This Years Event
The weekend of 2-3rd June 2012 and the Kilworth Challenge are now upon us. The last month has been busy to say the least with the final preparations all being put into place. A bonus was certainly winning two categories in the `Pride of Harborough` awards where we won the `funder of the year` and the `best of the best`. As we have always said, we do not seek reward and recognition for the Challenge but it is always very pleasing to receive it and it just spurs us on to do more.
Everything is now set for this year. We will have a full complement of teams and so no doubt we will have a highly enjoyable Challenge. The number of teams is a bit down on last year where we had a peak of 45, the Queen`s Jubilee and the extra days holiday has certainly had an effect on the availability of people. We look forward to an exciting and entertaining weekend ………… hopefully the sun will continue to shine.
A reminder of where the money raised goes. Usually about 60-66% goes to the named main charities with the remainder going to what we call `good local causes`. The main charities are : Dukes Barn; Over the Wall; The Leics Club for Young People
On Sunday 3rd June, we hope that we will be saying those magic words of `thanks a million` to everyone that has helped us over the years. It will be some achievement for us and everyone involved. We thank everyone that has helped in advance whatever the result. This includes Kilworth House and Theatre who have generously come in as a major sponsor to the Kilworth Challenge this year.
A final reminder of the dates ..2nd & 3rd June 2012. We look forward to seeing you out and about over the weekend. Also DON’T FORGET the Family Challenge scheduled for Saturday 1st September 2012.
